1. Acceptance
By using LINELY, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the app.
LINELY is intended for people aged 16 and over (see the privacy policy).
2. Use
LINELY is a journalling app, personal and private. You are responsible for the content you write. LINELY does not moderate your private entries; they are yours alone.
3. Subscription
LINELY+ and LINELY MAX are optional, auto-renewing subscriptions. Current prices are shown in the app and on the App Store. Payments and renewals are handled by Apple; you can cancel at any time from your Apple ID settings, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
What LINELY MAX involves, and you should know it before subscribing: to write your editions — your week, your month, your season, your year — the text of your pages for the period concerned is sent to Anthropic, a US company, for the duration of the generation. It is not retained there, nor used to train a model. Without a MAX subscription, nothing is ever sent. The detail is in the privacy policy.
Right of withdrawal. A subscription is digital content supplied immediately: by subscribing, you request its immediate performance and waive your fourteen-day right of withdrawal (Article L221-28 13° of the French Consumer Code). Refunds are handled by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
4. Personal data
See our Privacy Policy. In short: your entries are private, encrypted, never resold, never used for advertising.
5. Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Your account → Delete my account. This is irreversible.
What disappears: your profile, your pages, your jar, your undelivered letters and your editions are erased from the live database the moment you confirm. Your photos and voice memos go with the nightly round, at the latest the following day. An encrypted copy of the database and files is kept for 30 days, so that everything can be restored after an incident: what is erased disappears from it too within 30 days.
What remains, and it is deliberate: what you gave to someone stays with that person — a page entrusted, a letter already delivered, a joy offered, your words in a thread, an answer already revealed. Those traces lose your name and are signed by an empty account. We do not erase them because they also belong to the person who received them, and because the right to erasure stops where another person's rights begin (Article 17.3 of the GDPR). The detail is in the privacy policy.
6. Liability
LINELY is a tool for reflection, not medical treatment. If you are going through a crisis, contact a health professional or the national prevention line: 3114 (France). Outside France, contact your local emergency or crisis line.
7. Intellectual property
The app, its name and its content (other than your entries) are the property of LINELY (Alexandre Marlhens, sole trader, SIREN 107 572 927). Your entries remain entirely yours.
8. Changes
These terms may be changed. Any significant change will be notified in the app.
9. Governing law and disputes
French law.
Complaints. Write to us first at support@linely.fr: most disagreements are settled there.
You can also use the European online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
Failing agreement, the French courts have jurisdiction.
10. Moderation of the private Circle
Our philosophy
LINELY is a space for personal sharing. The private Circle makes it possible to share pages of your journal with chosen people, optionally and knowingly. Our moderation goal: to protect that space of trust without stifling authentic self-expression.
What is not allowed
- Harassment and intimidation: personal attacks, threats, repeated unwanted messages through reactions or invitations.
- Hate speech: discriminatory content based on race, origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other personal characteristic.
- Sexually explicit content: any sexually explicit content, in particular involving minors. Zero tolerance, immediate reporting to the competent authorities.
- Spam and misleading content: repetitive posts, promotional links, false information presented as fact, impersonation.
- Encouraging dangerous behaviour: content promoting self-harm, eating disorders, substance use, or any behaviour presenting a health risk.
- Illegal content: any content breaching French or European law — copyright, third parties' personal data, defamatory content.
How to report content
In the app: open the person's card in your Circle, then the "⋯" menu. You can report them — hurtful content, harassment, or another reason you describe yourself; your report stays confidential and the person is not told about it. You can also block them: the link is cut on both sides, immediately.
By email: support@linely.fr, subject "Report". Useful if you can no longer open the app, or to attach a file.
How we handle reports
LINELY is published by one person. We would rather announce a timeframe we can keep than one that reassures: every report is reviewed by a human, usually within 48 working hours and at the latest within 7 days. Content presenting an immediate risk to someone is handled first, as soon as it is read.
- Receipt: the report is recorded and its priority assessed.
- Review: the content is examined against this policy and its context.
- Decision: the content is kept, hidden or removed. The account may be suspended or deleted.
- Notice: the person who reported is told the decision by in-app notification or email.
Possible sanctions: removal of the reported shared page, a warning to its author, temporary suspension of the right to share, permanent deletion of the account, reporting to the competent authorities for serious illegal content.
Appeals
If you believe a moderation decision concerning you is wrong, write to support@linely.fr with the subject "Moderation appeal". Your case is reviewed in full, within 5 working days, and the reasoned decision is sent to you. We do not promise a second reviewer: we are only one person, and saying so is better than inventing it.
